Is it licensed here?
No. Arkansas does not license or certify mold remediation companies. The state licensed mold investigators, who test for mold, starting in 2010, but repealed that law in 2011. Remodeling and home improvement jobs over $2,000 on a single-family home, and commercial projects of $50,000 or more, still require a state contractor license.
Whatever the state requires, a mold-specific certification from an industry body is worth asking for. Examples include the IICRC's course-based Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) and its experience-based Mold Remediation Specialist (MRS), and the ACAC's Council-certified Microbial Remediator (CMR). Each requires an exam, and each can be checked with the body that issued it. These are held by individuals, not companies, so ask who on your job holds one.
Insurance is the other half. Ask for a certificate of insurance that names general liability coverage, and call the carrier on the certificate to confirm it is current. Then get the job in writing before anyone starts: what will be contained, what will be cleaned or removed, who will fix the moisture source, and how the finished work will be checked and documented.
Arkansas has no mold remediation license. It licensed mold investigators from 2010 until it repealed that law in 2011. This makes verification critical. Anyone can buy a truck and call themselves a "Mold Expert." Every listing here is identity-checked, and we show IICRC certifications and insurance only where a company has supplied them for verification, so you can see what has actually been checked before you call.

We don't have a figure specific to Arkansas. This is the national range. A single contained problem, like one wall or a bathroom ceiling, often comes in under it; whole-basement or post-flood work runs over it. If you get an independent assessment before the work, which we recommend, it is priced separately from the remediation, and so is an independent check after it where the job calls for one. Both should be.
See the detailed cost guideTwo questions give the range for a job like yours, and where each number comes from.
What comes back: the remediation range with its source, the assessor's visit and a clearance test, which not every job needs, as their own lines, and a total.
